Terms & Conditions

Rates: All rates quoted on this site are subject to availability. All rates are inclusive of GST and quoted in Australian dollars. By using the rates quoted on this site, you agree with and abide by these Terms and Conditions. Rates, as quoted, are for the house per night only basis unless specified. Rates may increase without notice due to any changes in or the imposition of government charges, taxes, or levies. Guests will be notified where possible of any increases.

Check-in / check-out: Check-in is from 2:00 pm and check-out is at 11:00 am.

Deposit & final payment: Standard bookings – payment is processed 7 days prior to arrival. Peak periods (Christmas, New Year, Easter, Event weekends, and long weekends) – the full tariff is charged 30 days prior to arrival. The House of Sol accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). If paying by EFT, please arrange for the funds to be transferred 7 days prior to arrival. A valid Credit Card is required for security on all bookings made.

Cancellation policy: Standard bookings – You can cancel or modify your booking up to 7 days before arrival at no charge. A full cancellation fee of 100% of the booking tariff applies if you cancel or modify your booking within 7 days of arrival, including no-shows. Peak periods – You can cancel or modify your booking up to 30 days before your arrival at no charge. A full cancellation fee of 100% of the booking tariff applies if you cancel or modify your booking within 30 days and no-shows. In the event The House of Sol has to cancel your booking due to maintenance works or unforeseen circumstances, The House of Sol will refund any monies paid by you and will endeavor to find alternative accommodation for you.

Children policy: The House of Sol is exclusive adults accommodation and isn’t suited to infants, children, or persons under 24 years of age. Our minimum check-in age is 24 years.

Group policy: The House of Sol isn’t suited to group gatherings. Gatherings of more than 4 guests will not be accommodated.

Behaviour & noise policy: We are located in a residential neighbourhood. Please respect our neighbours and keep noise to a minimum and observe our property quiet time after 10 pm. In line with our Groups Policy, The House of Sol has a “No Party” policy. Unreasonable and excessive noise and/or behaviour will not be tolerated. Guests will be requested to cease such behaviour, and we reserve the right to request that guests leave the property, no refunds applicable, should such behaviour continue. Should circumstances warrant it, we may call our security company or police in cases of excessive noise or anti-social behaviour. A charge of $500 may apply if management deems it necessary to cover the cost of disturbances including a security call-out fee. This will be charged to the credit card provided as security for the booking.

Additional charges: Management reserves the right to charge guests for the following, but not restricted to, all damages and breakages, lost keys, missing items, late departure, extra cleaning, and unpaid expenses. Any additional charges will automatically be charged to the credit card provided as security for the booking.

Lost key policy: Keys that are not returned will be charged to the credit card supplied. A $500 charge will apply if keys are lost as this will require changing locks.

Smoking & Vaping: The entire house is non-smoking/vaping, including outdoor areas. Any traces of residual smoke inside will incur an additional cleaning charge of $500. Any additional costs of cleaning soft furnishings may be added as deemed necessary by management.

Internet: The House of Sol provides guests with complimentary wifi. The operation of any internet connection during this reservation is not guaranteed and may be disrupted or not available. The House of Sol offers this service on a fair use policy.

Pets: Pets are not permitted on the grounds of the property.

Schoolies policy: The House of Sol does not accept schoolies reservations.

Wedding and events: Our space is not available to host the location for wedding or event preparation and portrait photography (see Commercial Policy).

Car Parking: Car parking is provided to guests. The House of Sol is not liable for any loss or damage to a vehicle nor to any property or effects of any person using the car-park.

Early departure: No refunds will be given on early departure, and any outstanding balance will be deducted from the credit card provided.

Trading terms: The House of Sol reserves the right to release any booking if payment terms are not met.

Visiting guests: We welcome visitors to enjoy the property during your stay. Each booking allows for two additional guests to visit the property during the hours of 8:00am and 10:00pm.

Commercial bookings: Any commercial use of The House of Sol is prohibited unless written consent is provided from The House of Sol 7 days prior to booking. All commercial enquiries are to be made directly to The House of Sol. Any unauthorised commercial use of The House of Sol, including but not limited to commercial photography & videography, workshops, events, or any other commercial activities, will result in a minimum commercial charge fee of $3,000 and legal costs.

Force majeure: The House of Sol will not be in breach of this agreement, or any way liable to any party, if it is prevented from complying with this agreement by reason of act of God, act of a public enemy, act of terrorism, war, earthquake, riot, explosion, compliance with any law or government restraint order, rule regulations, strike, lockout or any other cause not reasonably within the control of The House of Sol.

Privacy policy: The House of Sol is subject to the National Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988. We will generally collect personal information about you directly from you when you deal with us over the telephone, by letter, e-mail, or website. Normally, the type of personal information collected by us will include your name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address. We may use your personal information for some or all of the following purposes: To provide marketing information to you about our products and services To monitor the standard and quality of service we provide to you or other guests. If you do not wish to receive these communications from us, you may unsubscribe. If you choose to send email messages to us that contain confidential, private, or personal information, you do so entirely at your own risk.

Governing law: The Law of Victoria governs your use and occupation of the property during this reservation. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Victoria.

Copyright: The information, text, graphics, images, sounds, links, and all other information and software published or otherwise contained on this site (“the contents”) are the exclusive property of The House of Sol and, except as authorised on this site, may not be copied, distributed, displayed, reproduced, or transmitted, in any form or by any means, electronic, mechanical, photocopying, recording, or otherwise, without the prior written permission of The House of Sol.
